Daycare Transition

Now that Megan is almost 1, she is going to start moving up to the 1 year old room. Today she was in the new room for 9-10. She did great!

Around 11:00 I picked her up for another doctor appointment. The doctor said the ear infection was gone but there was still fluid. She also thought that Megan's breathing sounded pretty good. She said to use Vicks, a humidifier, and some nasal spray. Megan has another checkup Friday to see how she is doing before the big vacation.
Grandma Sullivan went with us to the doctor and after the appointment, Megan went home to play with Grandma the rest of the day!

Poor Megan

Megan was not at daycare Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday or Thursday. Shawn stayed with her this morning and I was with her the rest of the day. Poor Megan spent most of the day sleeping in the crib or in my arms. She won't eat any food and is only drinking about half of her bottle. This is the first time that I have seen her too sick to even want her bottle. Her temperature has been just a little high today even though she has felt warm all day. The couple of times that I set her on the floor, she just laid down and sometimes even closed her eyes. It isn't looking good for Megan to go back to daycare tomorrow. I did call the doctor's office and the nurse said to give Megan 72 hours to start to feel better. She also recommended I give her pedialyte. My sweet neighbor went out and got it for me. Now the hard part is getting Megan to drink it.

Ear infection and bronchiolitis

Megan still has her ear infection and has a bad cough. The doctor gave us another antibiotic and said we should start using the nebulizer again for her cough. He also gave us a referral to see the ENT (ear, nose, throat) department. The doctor said we should discuss if Megan has had enough ear infections to consider tubes.

Ear Infection

Unfortunately I was right. Megan has an ear infection. It is only the right ear again this time.

Poor Megan had to wait 45 minutes at the doctor's office for the doctor to come. The doctor was very apologetic when she came in the room. I guess short check ups are suppose to be done before the physicals but somebody messed that up today. Anyway, Megan was really good for the first 30 minutes but got pretty cranky after that. I don't blame her. I wouldn't let her crawl on the floor, I wouldn't let her crawl off the table and we only had one toy with us and it didn't even make any sound.

The doctor gave us a different medicine to try so we will see how it goes. She said that it is too soon to think tubes and is really hoping that the antibiotics work this time.

Ear check up

We have a doctor appointment tomorrow morning to see if Megan's ear infection has cleared up. I do NOT have a good feeling about it!! Megan has goop coming out of her eyes and her nose was a disaster this morning.

I don't know what medicine they can give her. If they give anything stronger, her stomach won't be able to handle it. Even though she had the probiotics last time, she had such a bad reaction to the medicine. She was going through 3-4 outfits a day with blowouts.

Today begins the 1 month countdown until Megan is 1 year old! It is so hard to believe.

Megan moving

Within a couple of days of Megan crawling, she started to stand up. Every time we try to get her to stand she had previously picked her legs up like she was doing an ab workout. Now she finally puts her body weight on her legs. We put her in standing position and she will hold on and stay standing. She hasn't gotten herself to stand up yet. Daycare said she is trying to pull on things to stand up but we haven't seen that yet at home.






We have also noticed that she no longer stays still for diaper changes. We knew this day would come and I think we were lucky she cooperative for as long as she was. But it sure is more difficult now!

And of course now that she is moving, it has become more difficult to dress her. She tries to crawl away when we try to put clothes on. As frustrating for us as that may be, I love that she is getting stronger!
