Moving Up at Daycare

Megan finally moved up to a 2 year old room today.  She was a little sad so she asked me to stay 2 minutes which I often do.  She was sitting with me when I said one more minute and she was still a little sad.  About one minute later she said "2 minutes all done" and then started sobbing.  Apparently she knew her 2 minutes was up and didn't want me to leave.  She was holding on to me so tight and wasn't letting me leave.  Eventually I  left but she was so sad.

Her class was getting ready to go to the gym so I ducked into her old room to grab a few of things they hadn't moved.  After I dropped off the stuff in her new room I took a look in the gym and she was still crying.  Even though I'm sure she was fine within a few minutes, it was still hard on me!

The part that is puzzling is that her new room has been the drop off room for many months.  And she has been dropped off plenty of times when her toddler teachers weren't there.  So it seems to me like today wasn't really that different.

Healthy Kids Day at the Y

The Y had a healthy kids day so we went early before swim class to check out the activities.  The best part was the Sun Prairie fire truck.  They let Megan see the truck and they gave her a hat.  She loved wearing the hat but it only lasted a few days before it broke.

Last day in the toddler room

Here is a picture of the sign Megan's teachers made her to say good-bye on her last day in the toddler room.

Rash

Last Tuesday night I noticed Megan had a red splotchy rash all over. Wednesday morning we took her to daycare and they sent her to the doctor thinking that it might be strep. The doctor also thought it might be strep but the test was negative. She said it was probably just viral and sent her back to daycare

A few days later there was still a rash but it was skin colored and very raised. I finally called the nurse today who said to use a lot of moisturizer and just watch it.  When Megan woke up from her nap, daycare called to say she had red marks on her face that she was scratching so we went to the doctor.

The doctor still didn't know what Megan had but she decided to do blood work.  I held Megan on my lap while they poked her arm.  I am pretty sure it was harder on me than it was on Megan.  The nurse told her she was very brave and gave her a coupon for a free scoop of ice cream.  I was so proud of Megan!

Too much tv

I think I should officially say we watch too much Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Megan is starting to know what is about to happen during the episode.

First haircut

Megan's hair finally got long enough to cut so I took her to my hairdresser Linda for a first haircut.

We thought if Linda gave Megan some food, Megan would like her and it worked.

Megan did great during her haircut.  She sat very still and didn't cry.

Birthday Gift from Grandma and Grandpa Sullivan

Grandma and Grandpa Sullivan bought Megan a wagon for her birthday.  She got it when we went to visit over Easter.  Here are some pictures of us on the farm.

2 More Minutes

I knew I was going to be at the gym late tonight so I told Shawn before I left "Megan will probably go to bed before I get home". Megan heard me say "go to bed" so she kept saying "2 more minutes."

(At bedtime on most nights I ask her, do you want to go to bed now or do you want 2 more minutes. )

Shawn and I started laughing so Megan started laughing but I'm pretty sure she didn't know what was so funny.
