ENT Doctor Visit

So we went to see the ear, nose and throat doctor today. He said that Megan has a lot of fluid in her ears and gave her antibiotics again.

The doctor said that he would be comfortable with Megan getting tubes and he thinks they could help her quality of life. BUT, he won't give his opinion on whether he recommends them or not. He wanted to leave that up to Shawn and I. Shawn and I have some talking to do tonight!

The "fun" part about the visit was that we know the audiologist who tested Megan's hearing. She is the mother of one of the boys in Megan's class. Everyone jokes that the two are boyfriend and girlfriend. It was a little easier that Megan knew who she was.

In other news, we are almost out of breast milk. Within the week Megan should be completely on whole milk. (Right now we are mixing them together.) She is doing great with her sippy cups and I'm proud to say she no longer uses a bottle. She does, however, still want her milk heated up. I am going to give her some time to get used to whole milk in a sippy before I work on switching her to cold milk.

1 Year Checkup

Megan had her one year checkup today. She lost a little weight since her last checkup and her weight is in the 25th percentile whereas she had been closer to 50th at her prior checkups. Even though megan grew taller, she is only in the 10th percentile for length. Megan still has a big head and is in the 90th percentile.

She still has fluid in her ears but the doctor said she did not have an ear infection.

Poor Megan got 4 shots but did pretty well after some cuddles with mommy.

One thing that was weird was that the doctor asked how Megan does with tummy time. I'm hoping that it is something she just automatically asked without thinking because she asks all day long. We don't exactly put her on tummy time now that she crawls and the doctor knows she crawls.

Next checkup is at 15 months. We do have an appointment with the ENT next week though.

Mommy and Daddy are home!

The first thing we noticed when we saw Megan again Saturday night was that her teeth really came in while we were gone. Her smile is so different now.

Sunday morning we went to breakfast at Bob Evan's. My dad and Eileen wanted a chance to see Megan before the long drive home. Megan wasn't sure of my dad and wouldn't chew her food every time he spoke. Eventually she got used to him but never really warmed up.

The drive back was long. Megan wasn't very interested in napping in the car even though we could tell she was very tired. We stopped for lunch and she finally fell asleep after that. When she woke up and we passed Chicago, we stopped for a snack. We got a banana and an Auntie Anne's pretzel. We should have had her eat the banana first because once she got a taste for the pretzel she wanted nothing to do with the banana.

We finally got home right around 7 but it was 8 Ohio time which was Megan's bed time. We tried to get her to have some milk in her sippy but she is refusing it. Even though she did great with her sippy at Aunt Allison's house, now that mom and dad are back she is expecting her bottle. Well she didn't get her bottle last night and she didn't get it this morning. Hopefully she will give in soon!

I love Challah!

Today is my last day in Ohio. We went to the Y this morning and than came home and had a yummy lunch of macaroni and cheese and hot dogs. My favorite part of the lunch was the pears! I can't eat enough fruit! Tonight my Bubbie and Zadie came to see me one last time before we get on the road tomorrow. With dinner tonight Uncle Jeff let me try some Challah. I really loved it!

TGIF!

You might think I'm too little to know what TGIF means but to me it means my mommy and daddy will be coming back tomorrow!
Today was another busy day for us. This morning we went to the Y again and I had a good time in the swing and was upset when Aunt Allison came to pick me up and made me stop swinging! Then Parker and Annabelle had their 2 year pediatrician appointment. Even though the doctor appointment wasn't for me, I know a doctor's office when I see one and I was not happy to be there!
After that we made a quick stop (Aunt Allison says as quick as it can be with two toddlers and a baby) at the mall. I was pretty happy with Parker and Annabelle pushing me in the stroller until they decided to eat all of my cheerios. Than I cried for the rest of the mall trip!
That was enough excitement for Aunt Allison so we came home and had lunch and took naps. After dinner we went for another walk. This time we went in Parker and Annabelle's new choo choo wagon. It was so much fun!

Busy Day

We had a busy day today! This morning we went to the Toledo Museum of Art's Family Center.

Unfortunately I was too little to do any painting or really participate in any of the fun activities but hopefully on a future visit to Toledo I can take part in more of the activities.
After my nap my Godmother Judi brought my GG to visit me!

After dinner we went for a walk since we finally got some warmer weather. It was a little windy though and I was afraid Annabelle and I were going to blow away (she insisted on pushing me in my stroller!)

Trying New Things

I have been trying all sorts of new things at Aunt Allison's house. Last night for dinner we had spaghetti and meatballs and she let me have some garlic cheese bread with it. It was SO good I ate almost an entire piece by myself! Tonight I couldn't get enough mango! It was such a yummy fruit!
For Parker and Annabelle's birthday somebody gave them these maracas. I might try to sneak them in my suitcase with me when I leave!

Is it my birthday party again?

No wait, I guess this birthday party is for my cousins Parker and Annabelle. I was looking forward to more presents but I had a good time visiting with everyone and even let some of the guests hold me.
I wasn't too sure about Dick holding me at first but I warmed up to him after awhile.

I'm not ready for siblings!

Yesterday Mommy and Daddy took me on a long car ride to Toledo to come visit family. When I woke up this morning my cousins Parker and Annabelle wanted to play with me.


Even though I have older kids around me and daycare I'm not quite used to having older 'siblings' around and am not quite sure what to think of this extra attention!

We went to Portrait Innovations today to try to get pictures taken of the three of us but the photographer lady was mean and I didn't like her. She made me cry which made Parker and Annabelle upset. Mommy and Auntie Allison said they don't love the pictures since we aren't smiling in them but I think I look cute in some of them. What do you think?
