Happy Halloween

Our neighbors had a small party so we went over there before trick or treat time to have some dinner. Megan did a great job sitting in an adult chair with me standing behind her. After dinner, we put on her Packers cheerleader costume. We started walking house to house and Megan just wanted to stay on the sidewalk and shake the pom poms. When we got to the walking path, Megan decided she just wanted to run up and down the walking path. We put her in the stroller but she just screamed. So we took her out and let her run around. Then we went home and told her she could play with bubbles. After it got colder outside, Shawn took her inside and I sat outside passing out candy and waiting for our neighbors to get back home so we could all have dessert. All of the families at the party had left out a large bowl of candy so we could all walk together but their house would still have candy. When we left, Megan went through the giant bowl looking for that one perfect piece of candy. She decided on a mini Reese's pb cup, a fantastic choice. When we go home, we let her eat it and Megan loved it!

Loving Bath again

Tonight when Megan was getting her bath, she did not fight to get out. We let her stay in the tub as the water was draining and as soon as it was gone she signed and said "more"!!! She didn't start to scream until we tried to take her out of the tub. What a nice improvement!

Fall Harvest Party

Daycare had a fall harvest party. Megan was suppose to dress up so she got to wear the ladybug costume Aunt Allison sent. Megan didn't really like being at the party in the gym. (It was dark, there was loud music, and the big kids were running around.) But she loved drinking water from a big cup, eating cookies, running up and down the hallways, and running around outside. We left a little over halfway into the party so we missed the costume contest and the parade. Next year we won't show up until the second half.

Schuster's Playtime Farm

Megan's daycare had an outing to Schuster's farm. I was good about making sure I charged my camera but then forgot to bring it. At least I had my cell phone and was able to get a few pictures.

Here we are at the entrance.

We went on a hayride to the pumpkin patch and Megan picked out a little gourd.

Next we went to the area that had slides and animals. Megan had fun going down the slides. After that we went to an area that had a corn box (like a sandbox).

Garbage Truck

Megan finally learned how to go down the stairs so I have been letting her walk from the house down the stairs into the garage herself. When we were leaving for daycare this morning, the garbage truck was on our street. She stood there on the steps watching it, waving at it, and blowing kisses. She kept saying oooh as it dumped the trash into the truck. It wasn't until the truck was out of sight that she agreed to keep on walking toward the car.

It was absolutely adorable!

Diaper rash

We noticed that Megan seemed to have a bit of a diaper rash. On Thursday, daycare called to say it got really bad and they recommend I take Megan to the doctor. I called the doctor and they had an appointment in 20 minutes so I took it. I rushed to pick Megan up and then got her to the doctor's office about 5 minutes late. (I had daycare give me some food to take for Megan's lunch since I didn't have any with me.) They gave us a prescription and the pharmacy said it would take 30 minutes to fill. Since it was pouring out I figured we might as well wait the rain out. Thank goodness we could go back to the waiting area and play with the markers. After we got the medicine, I rushed back to work and was only 10 minutes late to my meeting. It was a very hectic couple of hours.

Every time Megan's rash seems to start clearing up, it turns around and gets worse again. Poor baby screams now at diaper changes so I hope she is better again soon!

Loving Mimmi

Megan loves to carry around her Minnie Mouse blanket doll and say Mimmie, Mimmie. Last week Megan's teacher told me that now all the kids call their own blanket Mimmie.

Megan's bedtime

The past few days I have been doing Megan's bedtime routine on my own since Shawn has been out of town. After I put her pajamas on, I tell Megan she can pick out a book. After I am done reading it, she has been a very good girl and puts the book back with the other books. Then I tell her I want a hug and she runs over and leaps at me. It is so sweet!

Grandma and Grandpa Zaner visit

Grandma and Grandpa Zaner came to visit so we went to Epplegarden (an apple orchard) during the day on Saturday. I thought that Megan would love picking the apples because she loves to point at apples. There were only a few that she could reach and they were hard for her to pull off so she wasn't that interested in picking them. Megan did love pointing at all the apples though!

On the walk back to the front we passed the raspberries. Megan has never liked them before but Eileen picked one and gave it to Megan. She LOVED it! We couldn't pick them fast enough for Megan. If she didn't have one in her mouth and one in each hand at all times, there was screaming. Megan even picked some raspberries for herself. I thought we would have some to take home with us. I couldn't have been more wrong!

When we ate some of our apples during lunch, Megan didn't want anything to do with it. She loves saying and pointing at apples, but doesn't really care about eating them.

We also rode in the haywagon and Megan loved saying "neee" during the ride. (That apparently is what a horse says.)

I am happy to report that once we were home, Megan decided she likes apples.
