When I had my lunch visit with Caitlin yesterday I got pulled into the office by the owner and the assistant director. Megan's daily sheet had said on Friday to bring in diapers. Apparently they had meant pull ups and I got scolded for bringing in diapers when the teachers had told me not to bring in diapers any more and to only bring in pull ups. (The teachers never had that conversation with me.) The daycare didn't like that Megan was the oldest one in the class and she was the only one not potty trained.
Shawn and I hadn't been pushing it because every time we asked her at home if she wanted to sit on the potty, she said no.
The owner told me that I had to bring in underwear and extra clothes and that Megan would need to potty train.
This morning was terrible. When we tried to put her underwear on she screamed and screamed that she wanted a diaper.
After we eventually got her dressed, she had a pretty good day at school. She used the potty and didn't have too many accidents. After being in underwear all day, Megan finally agree to sit on the potty at home too!
Even though I agree Megan should be potty trained, I am very angry at daycare for forcing it on me. I didn't really think that a Wednesday is the best day to start. I would prefer to start on a weekend. And this weekend won't be the best because Megan will be with a babysitter most of the day Sunday.
But we'll see how she does.
